A Broken Lease & Heartbreaking Setback

We're Crushed.

It deeply saddens us to have to report that we will no longer be able to build our dream brewery at 80 Sherbrook Street for reasons out of our control.

Merely a few days before official possession, our landlords abruptly told us we would not be given our space and have not shown any openness to discuss the reasoning or willingness to work it out with us.

It goes without saying how much blood, sweat, and tears have been lost during the past year of planning. With architectural drawings nearly complete and the bulk of our equipment such as our brewhouse – custom-built around our space set to be delivered to us next week.

To us, the worst part is losing our place in the charming West Broadway / Wolseley community where some of us also call home. This is where we envisioned our own little paradise next to so many great neighbours.

It's Not Over

However, this is not the end of Kilter. We're only getting started. We're going to turn this hardship into bettering ourselves in how we move forward.

We will continue to brew experimental prototype beers at One Great City, and look for ways to get more beer into your hands while we rebuild our vision for the future.

A Call for Help

We now need to go back and search for a new building and would love your help in finding our home. Here are a few base requirements:

  • Centrally-located in Winnipeg
    • 5,000 - 10,000 sq. ft. space
    • 14'+ ceilings

Please contact us if you know of any suitable buildings not currently listed on the open market. We can't wait to move forward and get back to what we truly love – making and sharing great beer.

    Thank you.
